Imagineers Board Training Seminars Continue - Latest Seminar Offered on the ABCs of Community Associations

We continue to offer our free Board Training Seminar Series to all our client board members. The most recent seminar was conducted on October 29th and was the full day CAI course called "The ABCs: A Basic Course for Community Associations". This is a nationally recognized training course and was taught by industry experts from the fields of Accounting, Insurance, Law and Management. The ABCs course is one of the most comprehensive reviews of community association operations available. We were pleased to be able to offer this to our client communities at no costs. We had seventy-five (75) individuals attend, representing over forty-five (45) communities. There were many great questions and a good exchange of information.

Some of the material that was covered during the all day seminar has been posted to our website and is as follows:
1.) Legal Basis Overview (Lisa Anderson, Esq, - Bender, Anderson & Barbe, P.C.;
2.) Insurance Information (Dave Pilon - Bouvier Insurance)
3.) Financials Overview (Sam Tomasetti, Kulas & Co.);
4.) Reserve Analysis A Long Term Financial Plan for Capital Repairs and replacement (Walt Williamsen, PCAM - Reserve Strategies, LLC) and;
5.) General Management Operations (Karl Kuegler, Jr. - Imagineers LLC.)

We feel that our free board training seminars have been well received and we plan to continue to provide this service. Past seminar topics have included the following:

  • How the Changes to the Common Interest Ownership Act Impact My Community;
  • Roberts Rules and the CIOA required conduct of board meetings;
  • How to Get the Most Out of Your Community Financial Statements and;
  • Community Web Portal: How to Best Utilize this as a Beneficial Tool for your Community.

    Although this past session was a full-day event, the typical format for most seminars is shorter and includes allowing time for board members from different communities to socialize and compare notes, with a 45 minute to 1 hour presentation followed by time for questions and answers (total time 90 minutes). Refreshments are provided at each session. If you have suggestions on topics that you would like us to cover in the future, please let us know. Please contact Ken Schultz at (860) 768-3345 or Karl Kuegler, Director, Property Management at (203) 463-3219, with your topic suggestions.
