(click here) At least 150 residents at a Woodbury condominium complex had to seek shelter after a tree fell across power lines and blocked the only entrance to their homes in Thursday's severe storm.

Dog DNA Scooping Owners Who Fail to Pick Up After Pets -

A Florida condo association is taking an even harsher approach to its canine problem after residents complained of messes in the complex's hallways and outdoor common areas. Beginning Aug. 1, pet owning residents at the Village of Abacoa condominium complex in Jupiter will be required to pay a one-time, $200 fee to keep their dog's genetic information on file at the DNA Pet World Registry.

Condo Loan Changes Putting Developers, Buyers in Bind -
The Hartford Business Journal (June 20, 2011): (Click here) Condominium sales continue to be sluggish in Connecticut, but it may be more than just skittish homebuyers impacting the market. Local realtors and brokers say new, stricter lending guidelines for condominiums established by Fannie Mae and other government agencies a few years ago are creating headaches and making it more difficult for some would-be condo buyers to obtain a conventional mortgage.

Pet Policy May Violate Fair Housing Act
CAI Law Reporter (July 2011): (Click Here) Casagmo Condominium Association v. Venegas, No. DBCV094010514S, Conn. Super. Ct., Aug. 31, 2010. A Connecticut court denied summary judgment to a condominium association that sought an injunction to enforce its "no pet" policy, finding there were issues of material fact as to whether the association was bound under the Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988.
