Cost-Saving Opportunities through Lower Electricity Rates for Community Common Areas
Many of us have been inundated with offers of lower electricity rates. Imagineers has entertained a number of offers from several companies and has negotiated a relationship with Starion Energy - a licensed electricity supplier based in Southbury.
We know that this is a relatively new area for residential electric rates and that there are a number of untested entities jumping into this field. We have known some of the principals at Starion for a number of years and are confident that we can have a justified faith in their ability to provide good and honest service and rates.
Our decision was based on the fact that Starion may lower your electric bill by as much as 13%, the switch to Starion is seamless, there will be no power disruption, you can enroll or cancel at any time with no fee and the relationship with the utility company (CL&P or UI) regarding service interruption and billing remains unchanged.
Starion has offered to allow Imagineers to have a sales relationship with our clients. That means we will be entitled to a commission of .002cents/ kWh. We have decided to split that commission with our clients and, thereby, further reduce the electric rate for our clients by .001cents/kWh. The .001cents/Kwh we will receive will be used to cover our costs.
We believe that this arrangement will benefit our clients through a significant reduction in electricity costs without any risk. We have been able to negotiate our terms because of our size and we are passing that benefit directly to our clients.
We believe that this relationship is in your best interests and the proof will be in the lower common electric charges- there will be no changes other than lower electricity costs. Individual unit owners may also wish to enjoy the same energy savings and we will be able to accommodate them with the same rates the association has.
If you and your association believe that a relationship as described above may be one you would like to consider, we will be happy to provide you with a full comparison of the existing electricity costs and a projection of the savings you will be able to realize. We can provide you with a quick example of potential monthly dollar savings based on a recent electrical bill for your community. Please let your Property Manager know if this is an option that you would like to explore. We offer this option to the client communities we serve in the interest of being able to further expand potential cost-saving opportunities and add value to our service to you.
