10 Reasons to Encourage Other Homeowners to Volunteer for your Association
Getting volunteers to consider serving on the board or on committees is not always the easiest task. Below are 10 reasons to offer to persuade homeowners to consider volunteering to serve your association.
1. To protect the community's interests. Protect your property values and maintain the quality of life in your community.
2. To correct a problem. Have they disagreed with a decision, or do you think maybe maintenance has been neglected?
3. To be sociable. Meet their neighbors, make friends, and exchange opinions.
4. To give back. Repay a little of what's been done for them.
5. To advance their personal career goals. Gain board or committee experience and build their personal resume by including their community volunteer service.
6. To have some fun. Association work isn't always drudgery. It can be fun accomplishing good things with their neighbors.
7. To get educated. Learn how it's done. Gain knowledge of the board oversight, process and procedures.
8. To express themselves. Help with creative projects like community beautification.
9. To earn recognition. If they would like a little attention or validation, their contributions may be recognized and celebrated.
10. To try some altruism. Improve society by helping others
