Connecticut Proposes Mediation Program for Homeowners Claims Disputes
Insurance Journal (March 8, 2013) (click here) Connecticut's insurance department is proposing a new program that would offer a mediation option to resolve claims disputes between homeowners and their insurance companies that arise from catastrophes, such as hurricanes. The program was introduced as legislation, House Bill No. 6549, An Act Establishing A Mediation Program for Certain Insurance Policy Claims Arising From A Catastrophic Event. The bill is now before the Connecticut General Assembly.

Man threatens to 'blow up' plow drivers with loaded shotgun
WFSB, (February 3, 2013) (click here) The Middletown Police Department arrested a man they said threatened plow drivers with a loaded, double-barrel shotgun for putting snow on his property. Police were sent to the Knoll Crest Condos on George Street around 3:40 p.m. Friday after a plow operator called them to tell them a man had exited a home and threatened him and his co-worker.

Board resists having defibrillator installed
Chicago Tribune (March 22, 2013) (click here) Q: I live in a 60-unit condominium building. A majority of the occupants are retirees. I suggested to our board that a centrally placed defibrillator would be a beneficial addition to the community, and the board rejected the suggestion as being too great a liability for the condominium association to undertake.
