Imagineers Spring 2013 Newsletter

Welcome - Spring 2013 Edition

Welcome to the Spring 2013 edition of our quarterly board newsletter. We developed this newsletter to provide community board members with relevant information that would be helpful in the roles that they serve in their respective communities. It also affords us the opportunity to effectively communicate important issues. Each edition contains useful articles that have been archived and are still accessible on our website under Condominium tab under Imagineers board newsletter.

We realize that our biggest resource is our staff and therefore continue to seek opportunities for professional development to continue to improve the delivery of our management services. Since our last newsletter we sent twenty-five (25) Imagineers staff members to the Annual Conference and Expo of the CT Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI-CT) on Saturday, March 9, 2013. The Community Associations Institute - Connecticut (CAI-CT) is the state chapter of a National organization which serves to promote the best practices of community association operations. This includes inspiring professionalism, effective leadership and responsible citizenship in the community association industry. The day consisted of professional development activities including special meetings for Property Managers and Presidents of local Home Owners Associations (HOAs). We were happy to see many of our client communities in attendance. Imagineers is proud to be a part of the event planning committee that organized this conference. Karl Kuegler was fortunate enough to serve as the Conference and Exposition Committee Chairperson again this year. Donna Rathbun was one of the presenters at the well-attended and well received breakout session entitled "Communities: Ready for the Rebound: Enticing New Owners to Join Your Team".

Our staff attended sessions at the CT conference and exposition to increase their knowledge on handling issues facing condominium associations. The education sessions were led by industry leaders and covered many diverse topics. Upwards of 600 people attended the day-long event that also featured an exhibition hall full of many vendors serving the industry.

We also have senior staff supporting ongoing CAI-CT activity. Jim Banno serves on the Publication Committee; Donna Rathbun serves as the Co-Chairperson of the Education Program Committee and is a Board of Director for CT-CAI; Bob Burrows is the Chairperson of the CT-CAI annual golf tournament; Karl Kuegler serves on the Legislative Action Committee. We also have staff that are speakers of the day-long CT-CAI training event entitled "ABC: A Basic Course for Community Association", this includes Bob Burrows, Jim Banno and Karl Kuegler.
